Employed on an initial 3 month
contract to deploy the new corporate
standard environment, Picasso, to the Education &
Training division. Picasso consisted of Windows 7, Microsoft
Office 2010 and other core applications. The programme was behind
schedule and required rapid
deployment. Successfully deployed Picasso to nearly 40 sites across the
UK, liaised directly with the programme, technical teams and the
business to ensure successful deployment. Ensured that Education &
Training specific applications
that were not part of the core build were remediated and successfully
tested.
Business Analyst
Mapped the business processes for 4
business areas. Developed the detailed requirements for a Resource
Management System, Document Management System and Learner Management
System.
2003 - 2011 Steria
Project Manager
I joined Serco, who were the IT
provider for Dstl, in March 2003 as a Visual Basic developer supporting
a custom application written in Microsoft VB utilising Microsoft Excel
that provided budget control to the project management community. I
cross-trained to project management in 2005 and have been pursuing this
career since. Steria won the contract to support Dstl from April 2011
and I was TUPEd across.
1999 - 2003 Amey
SAP Senior Developer / Team Lead
After cross-training to SAP developer
from Oracle I was promoted to senior developer / team lead responsible
for a team of 6 developers. Worked on a project to implement SAP into
the organisation developing custom modules and reports. Management
responsibilities included providing estimates for development tasks,
delegating tasks to the team members and annual staff appraisals.
1996 - 1999 Comax
Senior Application Developer / Team Lead
Developed bespoke applications using
Microsoft Access and Visual Basic 6. Promoted to senior developer and
team lead, responsible for the delivery of all application projects.
Management duties included annual staff appraisals and mentoring new
developers.
1976 - 1996 Foster Brothers
Retail Manager
After joining Fosters as a Young Sales
Assistant I was quickly promoted to branch manager, achieving this
level in only 2 years (the training program for branch management was 5
years). I managed a number of stores during my career with Fosters,
with each being larger / higher turnover than the last. The stores that
I managed included Alton, Epsom and Winchester.
